Hello we're open.

Hello lovelies,

Just wanted to let you know that I got Instagram back and am loving it, besides the crazy data usage. If you aren't following me already I think you should look into it, my account is 'bejoyd'. I have also started up a Depop account called 'bjoyd' where I am selling vintage inspired pieces for affordable prices so go and check it out.

If you are like my friend who said "Excuse me what is Depop? Why do I not have this app?" Then I will explain a little, Depop is a free app where you can buy and sell second hand or handmade clothing. It's kind of like Instagram in the way you share photo's but so much cooler because instead of dreaming about the clothes you see on the people you are following you can buy them and wear them for yourself.

Just a reminder that my email 'bonnyd@outlook.com' is still open for all of you for any feedback, enquiries, advice, chatting that you may want to share.

I hope that you are all doing well and thanks again for reading.

Love, love, love.

To be, or not to be.

I am having second thoughts about social media. There is definitely a part of me that wants to get it back but then it also feels like theres a big brick wall in front of the log in page.

The pro's:

  • Finding new friends
  • Staying in touch with old friends
  • Feeling connected
  • Having something to do so I don't feel like spending money

The cons:

  • The drama
  • Procrastinating
  • Seeing things I would rather not see
  • Data usage
  • Remaking profiles

was easily my favourite form and it is the one that I have been without for the shortest time. I found that because people didn't use words as much it was easier to stay away from all the bullshit that sites based on people's words created. I loved editing photos and being able to communicate through images. If I get anything back, it will be Instagram.

has been around the longest but I still don't think much has changed content wise. There is still the cheating boyfriend, the girl that got too drunk on the weekend, and the drama queen that doesn't understand proper english. However, Facebook seems to be the easier way to make new friends because everyone has it.

is one of the newer ones, which I hear is quite popular amongst the big names. To be honest, I don't really get it. I created an account as a way to opt out of the other icons but got bored even quicker than with the others. But if I were to make a Youtube channel, this is where you'd find me.

was the main game during high school years. If you wanted to ask someone something without them knowing it was you, hit up their ask box. If you wanted to whinge about how fat you were, post many pictures of stick thin Tumblr girls. I feel like this may have developed into something that could be fun but I'm too scared to try.

I might slowly ease my way back into this crazy world of non-stop information and if I do I'll be sure to let those of you who still read this know.

Love, love, love.

Thrifted

I spotted a few new op shops recently and I decided to go and have a look in the Good Sammy's the other day. I was quite overwhelmed by the size of the shop but was very happy with what I found.

Firstly, I picked up a plain black and a plain white top, they were $1 each.

When I was in line to pay I saw this beauty in the corner of my eye. I expected it to be around the $10-$15 mark and was pleasantly surprised when I saw a $7 price tag on it.

I love this for several reasons, firstly it is from New Look and I am always so jealous when I see the nice things that UK Youtubers buy from New Look, by having this it makes me feel a little closer to that coolness. Secondly, it has gold detailing, thirdly it is the perfect size and last of all the strap is the perfect length.

I found this next piece in the ladies tops section but it is definitely more dress-like I think but I'm not complaining because it was only $3.50. It is a silky material and I really love the colour. You could wear this for various occasions and I absolutely can't wait to chuck it on with a few layering pieces and my boots.

I am a little unsure about this next item but am glad that I got it because I think I can make it work. It is a little gothic but I think I can make it match my style by adding some cute shoes and jewellery or something so I don't look too scary. It is super comfy and has a sheer underlay which means it isn't too heavy. It is in a midi style and falls halfway down my calf, unfortunately it isn't the most flattering but I still really like it. I paid $7 for this and am very ready to experiment with it in a few different outfits.

I then wandered into Priceline and couldn't resist the half price Rimmel so I picked up these two lipsticks. The first one is in the colour Vintage Pink 180 and is a part of the Moisture Renew collection. I wore this that day to work and absolutely loved it, which I was surprised about because I wouldn't usually go for a colour like this. On the lips it has a really nice hint of purple and is definitely nice and moisturising, the finish is satiny and really lovely.

The second one is number 32 in the Kate Moss collection and is a really nice pastel orange. I absolutely love this colour but found it a little drying on my lips, although I haven't had much trouble with the other Kate Moss lipsticks so I think it's just a result of my poor lip condition at the moment. I am a huge fan of orange lips and love that this isn't too in your face but is rather a nice subtle orange tone.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post and would love to hear from you so please feel free to comment or email me.

Love, love, love.

Sunday Market Finds

This morning I woke at 5:30 and got myself all rugged up to go to the markets. The ones I went to a more like a car boot sale where people try and sell you their old things for extremely unreasonable prices. But if you're lucky you can pick up some bargains. Sorry, in advance, for the poor photos but I don't have anyone or anything to take the pictures for me.

Item number one:

This was the most expensive item that I have ever bought at one of these but I feel as if they were worth it and even if I don't wear them I recon I could sell them and make my money back. These are from the brand Stussy Sista and cost me $15.

I find these overalls a little tricky to style so I just chucked these few ideas together quickly. All three are quite casual and easy to throw together. I think I will layer these in the colder months with a long sleeve shirt and maybe a scarf and jacket over the top. And for those warmer times I think I will wear them with crop tops to show a bit of skin and make them a little more feminine.

Item number two:

I am absolutely so happy that I found this for only $6! I have wanted a sheer dress for some time now and I absolutely love this one. This could easily be dressed up or down and is a great layering piece.

In these outfits I wore some black lace shorts and a black bralette underneath to make it more acceptable. I would definitely wear this on a night out with some heels or my boots and pair it with some bright lips and gold jewellery. Or for something more casual I would wear my flannel either tied around my waist or chucked on over the top with some trainers.

Item number three:

I grabbed this at the last minute for just $3. I think it is a great staple piece that can make any outfit that little more interesting. I have rekindled my love for gold and just had to bring this home with me.

Gold goes with anything and everything! I can't wait to put this on for a night out or a fancy evening.

Item number four:

I have been eyeing a black hoodie from Cotton On off for some time now so when I saw this one in a pile of other bits and bobs I was very pleased. This is a necessity in anyones wardrobe and can be worn in so many ways.

This is going to be my go to layering piece for this cold weather. It is absolutely so comfortable and can easily be made acceptable in public. It fits absolutely perfectly and the hood is on the larger side which I absolutely love!

Thanks so much for reading! I am really enjoying my blogging now that I have all of this free time so expect to be seeing fairly regular posts in the next couple of weeks. I would love to hear about any good markets/car boot sales that you know of in the Perth area so please let me know.

Love, love, love.

Going Out Makeup Look

Here is a look that I created for a night out, it is super easy to do and looks naturally glam. You could accentuate what I have done if you prefer something a little more done up but this worked for me as I'm not a huge fan of a full face on myself.

The camera doesn't pick up the colour from the blush or bronzer but at least you can kind of see the eyes. Ill go in order of application.
  1. Apply Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer in the lightest shade all over face with fingers.
  2. Apply Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (51 Light Vanilla) in the same way that you did the primer.
  3. Put a small amount of Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer (010 Ivory) on any blemishes or nasty spots and a little bit under the eyes too and just dab it into the skin with your finger.
  4. Now use Maybelline Age Rewind concealer (Light Pale) under the eyes and on any really bad spots and use finger to dab in again.
  5. Using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush apply Rimmel Stay Matte powder (003 Peach Glow) all over face, I find that pushing the powder into the skin rather than brushing it over is a better way to apply it.
  6. With the Real Techniques Contouring Brush apply Bourjois Delice de Soleil bronzing powder (12 Fair/Medium) along the outline of your cheekbones focusing on the hollows of your cheeks and bring all the way up to your temples. Also put a small amount along the jaw bone and down either side of the nose. Don't be scared if this looks really defined, we shall sort that out in a minute.
  7. Apply Elf Blush (Peachy Keen) with Ecotools blush brush to the apples of your cheeks, I only use a small amount and apply on the same angle as the bronzer. Once the brush is fairly clean I smooth out the bronzer to blend it into my face and bring the look together.
  8. For my eyebrows I use Ecotools angled eyeliner brush to first apply the wax from the Elf Eyebrow Kit (medium) and just brush it through to position the hairs and get the shape and add a base colour. I then go over the top with the powder to fill in the gaps, warning that a little bit does go a long way.
  9. Now I apply my BYS Liquid Illuminator (Strobe) to the highest points of my cheeks in a line with my finger until it is dry. I also put a small amount on my brow bone.
  10. I used the Models Prefer Mineral Eye shadow wet and dry quad (naked ambition) to create my eye look. Firstly I used the lightest colour as a base and applied with the Ecotools Eye Shading brush all over the lid and past the crease and highlighting the inner eye. Then I went over using the same brush with the gold colour but only took it to the crease. I then used the Real Techniques Detail Brush to apply the medium shade along the crease, focusing on the outer edge. I took it out from my lid and made a slight cat eye. I then applied the darkest shade to the very outer corner and defined the cat eye look. I also took this colour halfway under my eye.
  11. I applied my Rimmel Extra Super Lash mascara (101 Black Black) lightly on all of my top lashes and then went over my outer lashes to make them extra long. I only applied it to the outer lashes on my under eye.
  12. For my lips I firstly applied my Origani lip treatment and then went over with my Maybelline Colour Whisper (55 One size fits pearl) to create a nude glossy lip.
Thank you for reading, I hope this gave you some ideas for a new make-up look and you enjoyed reading it. Please remember that I am still new to make-up and I know that my technique may not be considered good but it works for me and I am still learning.

Love, love, love.

OOTD

If you're new to the Blogger/Youtube world OOTD stands for outfit of the day, so that's what I'm gonna do.

Today seemed to be fairly nice on the weather front this morning but then turned to a raging storm a bit later on. I decided to go for this outfit, yes I did get just a little dressed up for a day of opshopping, food shopping and not much else but I think it's nice to slap a bit of lippy on every now and then despite what your plans are for the day.

I'll start from the top; this is my third or fourth day hair (guilty as charged) so I opted for some Batiste dry shampoo and a good brush with the tangle teaser and not much changed but I felt a bit better because I knew that I had done something to tame the wild locks. Later on in the day I chucked a beanie on so it didn't really matter anyway haha.

On my face I have quite a natural look with my favourite lipstick; Rimmel Kate Moss 107. My base is simply the Origani Day Cream, Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in the shade 010 Ivory and Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 003 Peach Glow. On top of that I have Bourjois Delice de Soleil bronzing powder for fair/medium skin, which I used to contour with and Elf blush in peachy keen very lightly on the apples of my cheeks. I did my eyebrows with a product that I have really been loving lately; the BYS brow and eye pencil in blonde and topped off with Elf wet gloss clear mascara. On my eyelashes I also used this product just to get the length because I am too scared to have big eyes and big lips.

I am wearing a shirt that I just recently got; yes it is a XL mens tshirt and yes it does have R2D2 on it and says 'Star Wars'. I am really liking the whole oversized tshirt look lately, thanks to Sarah Hawkinson who wears it so very well. I found this one in Myer on the sale rack for $20 so I snatched it up. It is by Kenji also if you are interested.

On the bottom half I reached for my leather-look leggings from Cotton On, these have been a definite favourite lately because they are so comfy but still are acceptable to wear in public.

Then on my feet I decided on my boots by I <3 Billy just to add something a little less casual to the outfit.

I got a lot of funny looks today so I was a little nervous whilst wearing this, I don't really like to have people's eyes on me, but I guess you don't really see people wearing these kind of things on a regular basis so maybe I should've expected it. If I wear this again I feel as though I will just go for my Converse or New Balances and a nude lip so that I am not so much of an attraction. This outfit was extremely comfy and I really was happy with the way it looked.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope all is well for you.

Love, love, love.

Update

Hello to all of you whom keep coming back, thank you so much for doing so!

I just wanted to do a little ramble and let you know what's been happening, this may or may not be a procrastination strategy.

This week and last week are exam weeks for me so I've been stressed, tired and grumpy for the past several days but it's nearly over! If you are doing exams also, best of luck, my fingers and toes are crossed for all of you. So far I have had one exam, last monday, and it was the one that I was most nervous about because I really needed to do well in it. I felt like my study was adequate and I found the exam fairly okay, I just so hope that I passed because otherwise I have to repeat it and I don't want that. I have an exam today which I am feeling fairly okay about and one tomorrow and then my last one on Thursday. I'm not the best studier but I feel like I have done enough to at least pass.

Last week I went back home for a couple of days and caught up with the fam, especially my little sister. We went and watched Maleficent, which was nice. I must say that I had quite high expectations for the movie and was a little let down. I loved the visual effects and the costumes and all that artsy stuff but the actual storyline was quite boring and I felt that it needed more twisted and turns.

Angelina Jolie was incredible, as per usual, and can I just say THOSE CHEEKBONES! Oh my goodness, I know that they are fake but wow. I would definitely suggest to go and see it in 3D so you can get the full effect of the visual.

My friend has also introduced me to some more Frank, which I am so very grateful for because it is amazing. If you haven't listened to this album go and purchase it right now and I promise that you won't be disappointed.

This is perfect for every single occasion. I would suggest playing the full album from start to stop at least once because there are songs like Street Fighter and Bitches Talkin that are just sound effects of him changing a tape, which get annoying after listening to it multiple times. My favourites would have to be There Will Be Tears and Nature Feels but the whole album is genius!

I have also joined a gym in the past week and I am so so happy that I did. I joined Jetts and if you are looking for a gym to join then I would definitely recommend this one.

If you head on over to their website and sign up now it's half price signup fee at the moment! http://www.jetts.com.au The staff are absolutely lovely and they make you feel so welcomed and I think the price is fairly affordable for what you get. I love that it is 24/7 because it means there are no restriction and I can just go whenever I start getting bored or feel sluggish; it's really encouraging and definitely helps motivate me. I also love that you can go to any Jetts gym no matter where you are, so when I go home I can just go to the one down there; once again this is very motivating. I must admit that I am not the best at the gym and tend to just stick to what I know and its awful because it's not helping me at all but I am learning and starting to try new things. I am honestly starting to feel addicted and I love myself for joining.

I also splurged a bit added to my slowly growing Peter Alexander collection. If you don't understand all of the hype around having nice pyjamas go and buy yourself a nice little set from PA and I promise that you won't be disappointed. http://www.peteralexander.com.au There's a pretty good sale section as well so if you don't feel like splurging check it out.

For all of you girls out there, you know that feeling after you have shaved your legs and climbed into a bed with fresh sheets? That's what putting these bad boys on feels like. I would definitely recommend going into a store because they smell amazing and everything is just so lovely in there. If I was to choose a job to work in it would definitely be in there; the staff get to wear PJs to work!!!

Thank you so much for reading, I hope that I have inspired you in some way or another. Thank you so so much for coming back and reading. I am still not quite ready to get on the social media band wagon again but I'm sure I will be soon, especially during my uni break.

Love, love, love.

Haul #2

Soooo I went shopping again. This haul is cosmetic themed, as I wanted to try a few new things out. If you have tried any of the products I would love to hear your opinions on them so hit me up at bonnyd@outlook.com. And just so you know, you can click on the titles of the products and will take you straight to the website where I got them so you can purchase them if you like.

Real Techniques Core Collection brush set.

I have wanted some Real Techniques brushes ever since I started watching YouTube because thats all everyone talks about. So I got this set from Priceline for $33.74 (25% off), which includes the detailer brush, the pointed foundation brush, the buffing brush and the contour brush in a nice little case. I am very excited to try these bad boys out and am sure that I won't be disappointed. They are so very soft and stylish! I am particularly excited to try the contouring brush because contouring has to be one of my favourite steps.

Dusk True Scent in Fresh Gardenia.

I wish there was someway that I could share the scent of this with you but I do work in fragrances so hopefully I can do it justice. The box says that this burns for up to 60 hours so that's great! Plus it was only $15 so I'm pretty happy with it. I wouldn't usually be attracted to a floral scent, especially in this weather when I would usually go for something with warmth, but this was is particularly yummy. The first thing I thought of when I smelt it was football, I know that probably doesn't sound appealing but it has a sense of masculinity to it, which I am in need of. It is still really beautiful and fresh and even has a bit of sweetness to it, which is just wonderful. Get in to Dusk they have 70%!!

Formula 10.0.6 'For Profile Picture Skin' pack.

I was on the search for some new skin care and came across this bargain for only $6 from Priceline I couldn't resist. It includes a cleanser, a gel moisturiser, a mud mask, spot minimising patches and pore strips. I have used the mud mask before and it was really nice and refreshing so I'm hoping the other products are similarly good. I'm not too sure about the strips but I'm willing to give them a good try.

Palmer's Purifying Mask.

I was particularly interested in trying out a new mud mask for a bit of pampering and heard that this one was quite a goody. I love the Palmer's moisturiser and so I'm hoping this has a similar effect on me, it definitely smells just as good. I wasn't after anything too harsh and this seems to be really soothing so I'm excited to give it a try. It says that it includes Cocoa and Shea butter, Vitamin E, Kaolin and Sweet Almond oil for deeply moisturising, anti oxidising, detox and purify, and emollient. It also claims to be suitable for all skin types so give it a go.

L'oreal Paris Arginine Resist x3 'anti hair fall treatment'.

Next on my to-do list was to find a hair mask, as my hair is super damaged due to being dyed and me being too scared to get it cut again. I was recommended this by a lovely girl in Priceline and she said it worked really nicely for her. My hair has a tendency to fall out all of the time and it is so gross and she said that hers did the same and this helped. It is instant so you can put it in straight after washing and then wash it straight out rather than having to wait, which is great if your lazy like me. It says that it has in-depth cell strength too so I'm hoping it helps my hair grow a bit.

L'oreal Paris Total Repair 'Restoring Conditioning Spray'.

Yes, another hair product because one just simply wasn't enough. This one is a leave in conditioner, which claims to repair damaged hair and assist with styling. I hate having oily hair so in the past I have avoided these types of products but I'm now willing to give my hair anything to make it healthy again. I like that this one can be left in so I don't have to worry about it. Plus with my Batiste dry shampoo and this I should never have to wash my hair again right? I'm hoping that this will de-frizz my hair as well as make it look healthier, hopefully I'm not asking too much.

That's all for this haul, I hope you enjoyed it. I would love to hear about the products you use for your hair and face so let me know please. I hope you are all well. My next post will most likely be a May Favourites so get excited for that in the next few days.

Love, love, love.

The week in clothes.

Here's another fashion post just to give you guys an even further insight into my wardrobe, I hope you enjoy it!

Outfit #1

I didn't get a full length shot, sorry. On this day I decided to be comfortable but a little nicer. I wore my leather-look leggings with my new button up and of course I threw my black Cotton On jacket over the top. I also wore my new boots to tie it all together. For my makeup I had a natural look with strong brows (if you're interested in seeing this in closer detail let me know and I'll do a post).

Outfit #2

So this is an extra comfy look because I only had one lecture and decided that it wasn't worth wearing anything over the top. I'm wearing a black throw over from Cotton On with some knee-length leggings and just my black New Balance sneakers. I also chucked my jacket on because it was a little chilly. I don't think that I wore any makeup because I honestly couldn't be bothered.

Outfit #3

A general Wednesday look with an added edge that you can't see in this photo. I am wearing plain black skinnies with my Bad Moon tank that has a cutout back. I also added a scarf for extra warmth and slipped into my everyday shoe. I wore a lacy black bralet underneath, which is visible from the cutout in my shirt to make the outfit a little less plain. I had a very simple make-up look with invisible mascara.

Outfit #4

This one was a simple look for a friendly visit. I paired an oversized white slouch muscle tee that has a fairly low neck with my black leather-look leggings again and my two necessities (jacket and slip ons). I wore my black lace bralet once again, which is slightly visible through the white and can be seen slightly from the sleeves to make it a little more mysterious and bralets are one of the comfiest things ever! I'm not wearing any makeup for this super casual outing.

Outfit #5

The sun came out today so I decided to frolic in its slight warmth by wearing this cute shift dress from Sportsgirl but decided to wear my boots to keep my feet warm. I tied my hair up due to its unwashed state and I think by having my hair up it adds something a little less casual. Once again I am not wearing any makeup because I'm not going anywhere too important.

I hope that you enjoyed this little post, thank you so much for reading. I am having a break from Instagram so won't be using it to notify you anymore but please keep coming back, I will definitely be continuing my blog.

PS the giveaway isn't going so well so I guess I'll cancel it, no free goodies for you; the prize was a LUSH bath bomb, a fragrance and some tea by the way.

Love, love, love.

Haul #1

If you follow me on instagram (@bejoyd) you'll know that I recently went shopping with one of my girls and then today I got a few bits too so I'd thought I'd share my joy with you guys and influence you to go and spend money that you probably don't wanna spend.

We had a wonderful day together and it was all topped off with this wonderful lady taking our photo for us. Going shopping is so great, it's easy to bond with someone when there are clothes in the way so maybe if you've just made a new friend or want to get to know someone better, take them on a shopping trip!

Item number one was this pleather dress from Valleygirl at a very bargainous price of only $6.95 down from $29.95. I have been looking for a pleather shift dress that doesn't hug my body and this fits wonderfully and its a great staple piece. I would style this with a black cardi for a casual look going to the movies or something like that and where it with a big necklace and a pair of bright coloured shoes for a really edgy going out look. The only thing I don't like about this dress is that it makes my shoulders look manly and chubbs so I'd probably opt for a throw over too.

The second piece I found was this really cool button up. I was once really into button ups and think they can be styled so many ways, which is fabulous! I found this one from Valleygirl for $9.95 down from $24.95 and I think it's great. You could wear this with so many things; I would probably wearing it over some leather leggings for a simple look or jazz it up a bit with a bold necklace. You could tuck it into some high waisted shorts with a nice cut coat for a really stylish look too. This could easily be a guys shirt so definitely add some jewellery to make it a bit more feminine.

This third little one was a last minute purchase. I love the shape and size of it and have been loving it as one of my everyday rings, even though I just got it. It adds something a bit different and it just feels good to not to have bare fingers. It was a cheapy, $2.95 from Equip. If you can't make it out, its an eagle :)

These babies are my favourite purchase from the day. I know that I just recently bought some boots but I couldn't resist these, they just looked so good and they were super comfy! I was getting cold feet from wearing my flats everywhere so these will definitely solve that problem. I would wear these with absolutely anything and everything! They were a bit pricey but I have no regrets with these because I know that I will get so much wear out of them, well at least I hope. They were $75 from Shoe Show. They look a bit like a gumboot in this photo but they are shown above in my leather dress too.

So obviously shopping for one day wasn't enough and I had to go back for more. I purchased these to fulfil a wish that I have had for a little while now. I know it is cheesy but I really wanted to get matching Peter Alexander pyjamas for my friend and I. I was looking for some of the pants with the same print but they didn't have any so I just got the shorties (I'm sure I'll be going back for the pants soon anyway). These were $11.40 down from $29.99 (40% off!!!). My friends ones are the original dark blue dog print in case you were wondering. I also got a lovely pair of knickers too because I just couldn't resist but I think its a bit inappropriate to show those.

Then just before work I decided to go into T2 because this windy day has got me craving some warm chai. I picked up the Chai tea bags along with some soy milk and honey from Coles and have been drinking it ever since I got home, yum!

I also popped into Lush because a bath was also something that I desperately need and I thought by picking up some bath bombs it would be a good incentive for me to take one. I got the Honey Bee one for $6.75 and oh boy it smells heavenly. I also got the Twilight one for $5.95, which just looks really cool and its meant to clear your nose, which will be super helpful as I have just developed yet another cold. Believe it or not, these are my first bath purchases from Lush and I am so excited to use them! I would love to hear what your favourite Lush product is :)

So that's it for this little shopping spree. Thank you to all of you for reading, I absolutely appreciate so much! You guys are the best! And to prove it to you I have decided to do a little giveaway.
To enter:
  1. You must live in the Perth region or down south from Margaret River to Bunbury so I can get it to you without paying lots.
  2. All you have to do is email me at bonnyd@outlook.com giving me some honest feedback on my blog and telling me your favourite type of scent or flavour or both.
  3. I'll be putting all of the names in a hat and to show you that I'm not cheating I'll video it and send it to you!

  5. Get emailing kids!
I won't be telling you the prize because I think its better that it is kept a surprise but I promise you it will be worth it one hundred percent. What you have to email me is a little hint to what the prize is.

Love, love, love.

Fashion Dilemmas.

Have you ever felt like you just want to be someone else? Living a different life, looking at something new in the mirror. Yeah, me too.

Phase 1:
Tomboy
I remember my very first day of year one, I was excited and nervous because I had lived with my aunty for a year or so and I didn't really grow up with the kids from my home town. If I was put in this situation now I probably would've backed out and not even gone to school just to avoid all of the judgemental eyes of my peers but back then I was invincible. Throughout primary school I became the 'top dog', everyone knew me, I could boss people around, I was the best in my class, and I was friends with the older kids. I was basically that little shit that thought they were better than everyone else, probably because I was afraid of being the loser of the school. In year six I decided that I had had enough of being mean to everyone and dressing all girly so I decided to hang out with the boys and buy clothes that they would wear. I spent my days climbing on the monkey bars rather than sitting around on the outskirts with my minions. I really liked the new me and played this part until halfway through my first year of high school.

Phase 2:
Band Tee's
My first year of high school sucked. I didn't know anyone and I noone wanted to know me. I felt so different from everyone else, even though we all were made to look the same. I just didn't fit in at all. At home I felt the same. I left all of my old friends to go to this new school and I felt like I had noone. Through the bus trips to and from school I started talking to the older kids and sort of became apart of their group. They were all into screamo and so I started listening to it too. Thats when I started accumulating a few band tshirts. I rummaged through mums clothes and found this old concert tshirt that she had. It became my absolute favourite top and I wore it everywhere. Then one of my friends gave me a brand new Parkway Drive top, which replaced the top from mum. I wore that shirt 90% of the time and absolutely loved it to death. Halfway through my first year, I used the confidence that my older friends gave me to go and sit with the group of girls that seemed the most welcoming.

Phase 3:
Opshop Finds
These girls were absolutely wonderful! They were all so kind and lovely and I was so grateful that they took me in. From this I started meeting new people and thats when I met my best friend after she moved from her old school. We were inseparable all through high school. We just got each other and it was so much fun hanging out with her. Opshopping was one of our favourite things to do and I must say that we were pretty damn good at it. We found some great things and sort of became known as 'opshop queens'. This girl was more on the popular side, which allowed me to merge into the popular group.

Phase 4:
Ew
There was always pressure to be skinny and go out throughout high school but it accelerated through years nine and ten. During this time my older friends and the girls from the popular group introduced me to the party scene and so my style changed to fit theirs as well. On weekends I would wear the shortest dress I could find and straighten my hair until there was no life in it. This is what I thought everyone else was doing so I just followed suit. Looking back now I feel ashamed, I cant believe how I was dressing! Now I can see why mum would always comment and say "don't you think thats a bit short?" After a massive wake up call, I stopped going out and started focusing on what I felt comfortable in.

Phase 5:
Comfy
I started wearing casual dresses in the summer and leggings and a baggy button up in the winter because these clothes were comfy and hid my chubby bits (or at least I thought). During this phase I wasn't really paying attention to what I wore but rather just grabbed the first thing that I saw. I was content with where my life was thanks to one amazing person who has changed my life forever. He is the best!

Phase 6:
Black
I feel like my fashion sense has definitely come a long way and I am wearing things based on the 'Comfy' phase mixed with a bit of influence from people on the street and on social media. I love wearing all black because its simple. It doesn't make me stand out and I like that. I feel comfortable with where I am now and would love to drop a few kilos to make the black shine even more. Fashion is great and I can't wait to be more involved in it.

Thanks for reading, sorry there is no pictures but I played around with the format to make it look more interesting.

Groovy.

Hello hello! How is everyone?

The weekend that has just passed was another goody spent with some of my absolute favourites and I thought that I would share it with you.

Groovin' the Moo was on this weekend in Bunbury and I was lucky enough to go and enjoy the fun that it had to offer. I was accompanied by four of my most cherished friends and saw even more wonderful people there. Also, thanks to Brona and Ango who were wonderful enough to give me a few cheery comments on my blog, you guys are the best! My girl just got her license and so we all climbed into her car and headed up to Bunbury. The drive was one of the highlights of the day for me filled with so many laughs and so much joy, I just love being surrounded by people who you can be comfortable around. We arrived at about 12:30 and headed straight to the tent where the most amazing artist was about to play, you should all know that that is Allday. We all linked arms and tried to squeeze our way to the front, the boys succeeded but us girls fell behind and decided that we could get a good enough view from the side. When he walked out on stage my heart started beating a million times an hour and I got the biggest adrenaline rush, he is actually amazing! If you haven't heard of him before click here right now and go and check him out. He played some of his newer stuff, did a mash up and played one older song, I so wish he had just played everything because after going through all of his albums the next day I just wanted to see him sing every single song.

I knew all of the words to all of his songs, minus his brand new single, and enjoyed groovin' out to his talent so so much! The experience was even better because I was hand in hand with three greats. When he finished I was shaking with excitement! He is an incredible artist and I cannot wait to see him live again soon. My friends that were at the front were lucky enough to give him a cuddle as well so that was awesome for them. Unfortunately we missed his signing but hopefully we can see him again soon.

Throughout the day my lovely and I wandered around, people watched and enjoyed the festival vibes meeting up with the boys, whom were running a much, every now and then. Throughout the day we saw bits of most of the acts but watched the full sets of Thundamentals and Peking Duk. I had the best time at Thundamentals because we had a whole crew up the back of the crowd just dancing and enjoying each others company, it was wonderful!

Festivals are so much fun and this was exceptionally great because of the people that I was with. I love you guys so much and it was amazing to see so many faces and meet a few newbies. I will definitely be doing this again in the future sometime. How was your GTM experience? Hopefully as fabulous as mine.

Love, love, love.

Weekend wanders.

This weekend has been absolutely wonderful! I had a few unfortunate change of plans but made the most of it. I spent money that I should be saving, ate food that I probably shouldn't have and enjoyed my time rather than being cooped up studying. But forget about those negatives because it was overall really great.

On Saturday my friend and I went to IKEA to have a general look around and a get a few homey things. If you have never been to IKEA or haven't even heard of it then I shall explain: to me IKEA is like a big people's playground. Basically it's just a really large home-wares shop originating from Sweden; there's a massive showroom where they have kitchen, bedroom, bathroom ideas and all of the stuff in between, there's also a restaurant where the food is super cheap and then there's a self-serve section where you can purchase the flat packs and other bits and bobs. I love going to IKEA because of the great ideas that make up the showroom, I love pretending that the areas of the showroom are rooms in my own house (I wish). I cannot wait to have my own house to decorate myself but for now all I have is my room so I just make do with the space that I have. I ended up picking up a mirror, a plain black doona set and an apple slicer. My friend got himself a bin, a sheet set, a clothes rack and some hooks to hang things on. Honestly, I think IKEA would be a great place for a date because there is so much to talk about in the showroom, you can snuggle on the beds and stuff and then go and get a cheap bite to eat. It was a very fun trip and I can't wait to do it again sometime.

Then in the afternoon we decided that we should go and stay in a fancy hotel for the night but we didn't want to spend too much money. We ended up going to the Pan Pacific Perth and indulging in all that it had to offer. It felt like we were in another world; I was referred to as Miss Davis, we got food brought to our bedside and lived in a fluffy white robe for the evening. We had a room on the 15th floor and got to overlook the river.

We spent the night eating yummy things, bathing lots and watching Foxtel. We fell asleep quite early, tangled in the luscious white sheets. We woke quite late in the morning, bathed, watched some more telly and then wandered to breakfast. With our room we got a free buffet breakfast, which had absolutely everything! There was hot breakfast options, fruit and cheese, cereals and even waffles and pancakes with ice-cream! After breakfast we took the elevator all the way to the top and had a snoop around, imagining ourselves as the guests of the Presidential Suite. We then headed back to our room packed up and checked out. Overall it was a very luxurious stay that was thoroughly enjoyed and to be honest, quite good value for money.

I think weekends should be a time for relaxation, catching up with people and just enjoying yourself. I hate the thought of having to stay locked up in my room all weekend typing on my computer. Just take one day to do something nice, you deserve it! Treat yourself and surround yourself with those who make you happy. I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend too!

PS Happiest birthday to my gorgeous friend Tessa, I'm sorry that I couldn't make it, I promise I'll make it up to you next weekend!

April Favourites '14

Hey there! These were some of my favourite things in the month of April:

1.
Recently, I was just wandering around and I happened to have a quick look in the Red Cross op-shop and I was lucky enough to find this beauty!

I have been looking for a nice coat for a while now and I was so happy when I found this for only $20. It has the coolest silver buttons on the front and deep pockets too which are great for fitting all of my goodies in. It fits perfectly and isn't too heavy so it's great as a layering piece, which is perfect for me. Today, I paired this with a black waffle-knit cardigan tucked into high waisted shorts and boots and it really added something a little fancy to my outfit.

2.
I know that I am quite late on the band wagon for these but now that I own some I can definitely appreciate why they were on everyone's feet at the end of last year. These are a knock-off of the Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane boots from City Beach.

I got these on special for about $20 I think so I was very pleased. I would've preferred them with a gold buckle but besides that I absolutely love them. I like wearing these with cool patterned socks, like my stripy ones (as seen above), and stomping around campus in them because they are super comfy and give me an edgier look.

3.
I have been in search of a morning cleanser, I didn't want anything too harsh on my skin but wanted it to make me feel refreshed and to make me look more awake. I found this one from LUSH for $9.95 and it ticks all of the boxes.

Every morning I will rub a squirt of this all over my face and let it sit for a bit whilst I brush my teeth and then I rinse it off with a warm flannel and it leaves my skin feeling smooth and lovely.

4.
Lucy Molloy did a review of this Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion on her blog and it really got me interested, so much so that I hopped straight in my car and went to purchase it. It was quite pricey (in my opinion) at $23.95 but I guess its worth it because a little bit definitely goes a long way. I love putting this on my face after cleansing and moisturising before bed, it makes my skin feel clean and when I wake up in the morning I can definitely notice that my redness has gone down. If you don't want to spend this much there is the cheaper option of just purchasing tea tree oil, which you can get from the Body Shop for $9.95 or LUSH also has a tea tree spray for the same price both of which will probably have similar effects.

5.
As I have said in a previous post, I was getting quite annoyed with my Nude by Nature mineral powder and decided to follow the advice of YouTuber Tanya Burr and get the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder ($12.95 from Priceline).

(Sorry that the picture is the wrong way around, I was in a rush). I have it in the shade 'Peach Glow' and it has such a gorgeous finish.

6.
Another product by Rimmel, which I have also previously mentioned is the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in the shade 'Cutting Edge' ($9.95 from Priceline).

This is such a cool colour and really gives a nice pop on the lips, it smells good too! The finish is matte and it really lasts me probably 80% of the day even with eating and all of that.

7.
I am a new member of the T2 society after spending probably a little too much money on these wonderful tea's ($14 each from T2).

'Detox' is a loose leaf tea (try saying that really fast over and over), which I drink every morning. The taste is quite unusual and I'm not sure if it really does have a detox effect but I like to think that it does. 'Gorgeous Geisha' is a green tea infused with strawberries and cream, it's a really light tea, which I love drinking when I get home from Uni or in the middle of the day. It's super yummy and soothing. 'Sleep tight' is a calming, fruity tea that is wonderful to have just before bed.

8.
I have been really into iBooks ever since I got my iPad, so far I have read five books and am really enjoying getting back into reading (I was once obsessed with reading anything and everything). I have been getting into crime stories, especially the Steig Larsson trilogy "The Millennium series" if you haven't read it then go and buy it immediately because they will probably be the best three books that you have ever read. I love reading on the bus on the way to and from uni and whenever I want to relax and immerse myself in a new world.

So they're the majority of the things that have kept me going through April. I am now off to see the movie Divergent so I'm sorry if this post was a little half-hearted but I'm running a little behind schedule. Thank you so much for reading! Please don't hesitate sending me an email (bonnyd@outlook.com), I would love to hear your opinions and what your favourite things were this month.

Love, love. love.
