Haul #2

Soooo I went shopping again. This haul is cosmetic themed, as I wanted to try a few new things out. If you have tried any of the products I would love to hear your opinions on them so hit me up at bonnyd@outlook.com. And just so you know, you can click on the titles of the products and will take you straight to the website where I got them so you can purchase them if you like.

Real Techniques Core Collection brush set.

I have wanted some Real Techniques brushes ever since I started watching YouTube because thats all everyone talks about. So I got this set from Priceline for $33.74 (25% off), which includes the detailer brush, the pointed foundation brush, the buffing brush and the contour brush in a nice little case. I am very excited to try these bad boys out and am sure that I won't be disappointed. They are so very soft and stylish! I am particularly excited to try the contouring brush because contouring has to be one of my favourite steps.

Dusk True Scent in Fresh Gardenia.

I wish there was someway that I could share the scent of this with you but I do work in fragrances so hopefully I can do it justice. The box says that this burns for up to 60 hours so that's great! Plus it was only $15 so I'm pretty happy with it. I wouldn't usually be attracted to a floral scent, especially in this weather when I would usually go for something with warmth, but this was is particularly yummy. The first thing I thought of when I smelt it was football, I know that probably doesn't sound appealing but it has a sense of masculinity to it, which I am in need of. It is still really beautiful and fresh and even has a bit of sweetness to it, which is just wonderful. Get in to Dusk they have 70%!!

Formula 10.0.6 'For Profile Picture Skin' pack.

I was on the search for some new skin care and came across this bargain for only $6 from Priceline I couldn't resist. It includes a cleanser, a gel moisturiser, a mud mask, spot minimising patches and pore strips. I have used the mud mask before and it was really nice and refreshing so I'm hoping the other products are similarly good. I'm not too sure about the strips but I'm willing to give them a good try.

Palmer's Purifying Mask.

I was particularly interested in trying out a new mud mask for a bit of pampering and heard that this one was quite a goody. I love the Palmer's moisturiser and so I'm hoping this has a similar effect on me, it definitely smells just as good. I wasn't after anything too harsh and this seems to be really soothing so I'm excited to give it a try. It says that it includes Cocoa and Shea butter, Vitamin E, Kaolin and Sweet Almond oil for deeply moisturising, anti oxidising, detox and purify, and emollient. It also claims to be suitable for all skin types so give it a go.

L'oreal Paris Arginine Resist x3 'anti hair fall treatment'.

Next on my to-do list was to find a hair mask, as my hair is super damaged due to being dyed and me being too scared to get it cut again. I was recommended this by a lovely girl in Priceline and she said it worked really nicely for her. My hair has a tendency to fall out all of the time and it is so gross and she said that hers did the same and this helped. It is instant so you can put it in straight after washing and then wash it straight out rather than having to wait, which is great if your lazy like me. It says that it has in-depth cell strength too so I'm hoping it helps my hair grow a bit.

L'oreal Paris Total Repair 'Restoring Conditioning Spray'.

Yes, another hair product because one just simply wasn't enough. This one is a leave in conditioner, which claims to repair damaged hair and assist with styling. I hate having oily hair so in the past I have avoided these types of products but I'm now willing to give my hair anything to make it healthy again. I like that this one can be left in so I don't have to worry about it. Plus with my Batiste dry shampoo and this I should never have to wash my hair again right? I'm hoping that this will de-frizz my hair as well as make it look healthier, hopefully I'm not asking too much.

That's all for this haul, I hope you enjoyed it. I would love to hear about the products you use for your hair and face so let me know please. I hope you are all well. My next post will most likely be a May Favourites so get excited for that in the next few days.

Love, love, love.

The week in clothes.

Here's another fashion post just to give you guys an even further insight into my wardrobe, I hope you enjoy it!

Outfit #1

I didn't get a full length shot, sorry. On this day I decided to be comfortable but a little nicer. I wore my leather-look leggings with my new button up and of course I threw my black Cotton On jacket over the top. I also wore my new boots to tie it all together. For my makeup I had a natural look with strong brows (if you're interested in seeing this in closer detail let me know and I'll do a post).

Outfit #2

So this is an extra comfy look because I only had one lecture and decided that it wasn't worth wearing anything over the top. I'm wearing a black throw over from Cotton On with some knee-length leggings and just my black New Balance sneakers. I also chucked my jacket on because it was a little chilly. I don't think that I wore any makeup because I honestly couldn't be bothered.

Outfit #3

A general Wednesday look with an added edge that you can't see in this photo. I am wearing plain black skinnies with my Bad Moon tank that has a cutout back. I also added a scarf for extra warmth and slipped into my everyday shoe. I wore a lacy black bralet underneath, which is visible from the cutout in my shirt to make the outfit a little less plain. I had a very simple make-up look with invisible mascara.

Outfit #4

This one was a simple look for a friendly visit. I paired an oversized white slouch muscle tee that has a fairly low neck with my black leather-look leggings again and my two necessities (jacket and slip ons). I wore my black lace bralet once again, which is slightly visible through the white and can be seen slightly from the sleeves to make it a little more mysterious and bralets are one of the comfiest things ever! I'm not wearing any makeup for this super casual outing.

Outfit #5

The sun came out today so I decided to frolic in its slight warmth by wearing this cute shift dress from Sportsgirl but decided to wear my boots to keep my feet warm. I tied my hair up due to its unwashed state and I think by having my hair up it adds something a little less casual. Once again I am not wearing any makeup because I'm not going anywhere too important.

I hope that you enjoyed this little post, thank you so much for reading. I am having a break from Instagram so won't be using it to notify you anymore but please keep coming back, I will definitely be continuing my blog.

PS the giveaway isn't going so well so I guess I'll cancel it, no free goodies for you; the prize was a LUSH bath bomb, a fragrance and some tea by the way.

Love, love, love.

Haul #1

If you follow me on instagram (@bejoyd) you'll know that I recently went shopping with one of my girls and then today I got a few bits too so I'd thought I'd share my joy with you guys and influence you to go and spend money that you probably don't wanna spend.

We had a wonderful day together and it was all topped off with this wonderful lady taking our photo for us. Going shopping is so great, it's easy to bond with someone when there are clothes in the way so maybe if you've just made a new friend or want to get to know someone better, take them on a shopping trip!

Item number one was this pleather dress from Valleygirl at a very bargainous price of only $6.95 down from $29.95. I have been looking for a pleather shift dress that doesn't hug my body and this fits wonderfully and its a great staple piece. I would style this with a black cardi for a casual look going to the movies or something like that and where it with a big necklace and a pair of bright coloured shoes for a really edgy going out look. The only thing I don't like about this dress is that it makes my shoulders look manly and chubbs so I'd probably opt for a throw over too.

The second piece I found was this really cool button up. I was once really into button ups and think they can be styled so many ways, which is fabulous! I found this one from Valleygirl for $9.95 down from $24.95 and I think it's great. You could wear this with so many things; I would probably wearing it over some leather leggings for a simple look or jazz it up a bit with a bold necklace. You could tuck it into some high waisted shorts with a nice cut coat for a really stylish look too. This could easily be a guys shirt so definitely add some jewellery to make it a bit more feminine.

This third little one was a last minute purchase. I love the shape and size of it and have been loving it as one of my everyday rings, even though I just got it. It adds something a bit different and it just feels good to not to have bare fingers. It was a cheapy, $2.95 from Equip. If you can't make it out, its an eagle :)

These babies are my favourite purchase from the day. I know that I just recently bought some boots but I couldn't resist these, they just looked so good and they were super comfy! I was getting cold feet from wearing my flats everywhere so these will definitely solve that problem. I would wear these with absolutely anything and everything! They were a bit pricey but I have no regrets with these because I know that I will get so much wear out of them, well at least I hope. They were $75 from Shoe Show. They look a bit like a gumboot in this photo but they are shown above in my leather dress too.

So obviously shopping for one day wasn't enough and I had to go back for more. I purchased these to fulfil a wish that I have had for a little while now. I know it is cheesy but I really wanted to get matching Peter Alexander pyjamas for my friend and I. I was looking for some of the pants with the same print but they didn't have any so I just got the shorties (I'm sure I'll be going back for the pants soon anyway). These were $11.40 down from $29.99 (40% off!!!). My friends ones are the original dark blue dog print in case you were wondering. I also got a lovely pair of knickers too because I just couldn't resist but I think its a bit inappropriate to show those.

Then just before work I decided to go into T2 because this windy day has got me craving some warm chai. I picked up the Chai tea bags along with some soy milk and honey from Coles and have been drinking it ever since I got home, yum!

I also popped into Lush because a bath was also something that I desperately need and I thought by picking up some bath bombs it would be a good incentive for me to take one. I got the Honey Bee one for $6.75 and oh boy it smells heavenly. I also got the Twilight one for $5.95, which just looks really cool and its meant to clear your nose, which will be super helpful as I have just developed yet another cold. Believe it or not, these are my first bath purchases from Lush and I am so excited to use them! I would love to hear what your favourite Lush product is :)

So that's it for this little shopping spree. Thank you to all of you for reading, I absolutely appreciate so much! You guys are the best! And to prove it to you I have decided to do a little giveaway.

Fashion Dilemmas.

Have you ever felt like you just want to be someone else? Living a different life, looking at something new in the mirror. Yeah, me too.

Phase 1:
Tomboy
I remember my very first day of year one, I was excited and nervous because I had lived with my aunty for a year or so and I didn't really grow up with the kids from my home town. If I was put in this situation now I probably would've backed out and not even gone to school just to avoid all of the judgemental eyes of my peers but back then I was invincible. Throughout primary school I became the 'top dog', everyone knew me, I could boss people around, I was the best in my class, and I was friends with the older kids. I was basically that little shit that thought they were better than everyone else, probably because I was afraid of being the loser of the school. In year six I decided that I had had enough of being mean to everyone and dressing all girly so I decided to hang out with the boys and buy clothes that they would wear. I spent my days climbing on the monkey bars rather than sitting around on the outskirts with my minions. I really liked the new me and played this part until halfway through my first year of high school.

Phase 2:
Band Tee's
My first year of high school sucked. I didn't know anyone and I noone wanted to know me. I felt so different from everyone else, even though we all were made to look the same. I just didn't fit in at all. At home I felt the same. I left all of my old friends to go to this new school and I felt like I had noone. Through the bus trips to and from school I started talking to the older kids and sort of became apart of their group. They were all into screamo and so I started listening to it too. Thats when I started accumulating a few band tshirts. I rummaged through mums clothes and found this old concert tshirt that she had. It became my absolute favourite top and I wore it everywhere. Then one of my friends gave me a brand new Parkway Drive top, which replaced the top from mum. I wore that shirt 90% of the time and absolutely loved it to death. Halfway through my first year, I used the confidence that my older friends gave me to go and sit with the group of girls that seemed the most welcoming.

Phase 3:
Opshop Finds
These girls were absolutely wonderful! They were all so kind and lovely and I was so grateful that they took me in. From this I started meeting new people and thats when I met my best friend after she moved from her old school. We were inseparable all through high school. We just got each other and it was so much fun hanging out with her. Opshopping was one of our favourite things to do and I must say that we were pretty damn good at it. We found some great things and sort of became known as 'opshop queens'. This girl was more on the popular side, which allowed me to merge into the popular group.

Phase 4:
Ew
There was always pressure to be skinny and go out throughout high school but it accelerated through years nine and ten. During this time my older friends and the girls from the popular group introduced me to the party scene and so my style changed to fit theirs as well. On weekends I would wear the shortest dress I could find and straighten my hair until there was no life in it. This is what I thought everyone else was doing so I just followed suit. Looking back now I feel ashamed, I cant believe how I was dressing! Now I can see why mum would always comment and say "don't you think thats a bit short?" After a massive wake up call, I stopped going out and started focusing on what I felt comfortable in.

Phase 5:
Comfy
I started wearing casual dresses in the summer and leggings and a baggy button up in the winter because these clothes were comfy and hid my chubby bits (or at least I thought). During this phase I wasn't really paying attention to what I wore but rather just grabbed the first thing that I saw. I was content with where my life was thanks to one amazing person who has changed my life forever. He is the best!

Phase 6:
Black
I feel like my fashion sense has definitely come a long way and I am wearing things based on the 'Comfy' phase mixed with a bit of influence from people on the street and on social media. I love wearing all black because its simple. It doesn't make me stand out and I like that. I feel comfortable with where I am now and would love to drop a few kilos to make the black shine even more. Fashion is great and I can't wait to be more involved in it.

Thanks for reading, sorry there is no pictures but I played around with the format to make it look more interesting.

Love, love, love.

Groovy.

Hello hello! How is everyone?

The weekend that has just passed was another goody spent with some of my absolute favourites and I thought that I would share it with you.

Groovin' the Moo was on this weekend in Bunbury and I was lucky enough to go and enjoy the fun that it had to offer. I was accompanied by four of my most cherished friends and saw even more wonderful people there. Also, thanks to Brona and Ango who were wonderful enough to give me a few cheery comments on my blog, you guys are the best! My girl just got her license and so we all climbed into her car and headed up to Bunbury. The drive was one of the highlights of the day for me filled with so many laughs and so much joy, I just love being surrounded by people who you can be comfortable around. We arrived at about 12:30 and headed straight to the tent where the most amazing artist was about to play, you should all know that that is Allday. We all linked arms and tried to squeeze our way to the front, the boys succeeded but us girls fell behind and decided that we could get a good enough view from the side. When he walked out on stage my heart started beating a million times an hour and I got the biggest adrenaline rush, he is actually amazing! If you haven't heard of him before click here right now and go and check him out. He played some of his newer stuff, did a mash up and played one older song, I so wish he had just played everything because after going through all of his albums the next day I just wanted to see him sing every single song.

I knew all of the words to all of his songs, minus his brand new single, and enjoyed groovin' out to his talent so so much! The experience was even better because I was hand in hand with three greats. When he finished I was shaking with excitement! He is an incredible artist and I cannot wait to see him live again soon. My friends that were at the front were lucky enough to give him a cuddle as well so that was awesome for them. Unfortunately we missed his signing but hopefully we can see him again soon.

Throughout the day my lovely and I wandered around, people watched and enjoyed the festival vibes meeting up with the boys, whom were running a much, every now and then. Throughout the day we saw bits of most of the acts but watched the full sets of Thundamentals and Peking Duk. I had the best time at Thundamentals because we had a whole crew up the back of the crowd just dancing and enjoying each others company, it was wonderful!

Festivals are so much fun and this was exceptionally great because of the people that I was with. I love you guys so much and it was amazing to see so many faces and meet a few newbies. I will definitely be doing this again in the future sometime. How was your GTM experience? Hopefully as fabulous as mine.

Love, love, love.

Weekend wanders.

This weekend has been absolutely wonderful! I had a few unfortunate change of plans but made the most of it. I spent money that I should be saving, ate food that I probably shouldn't have and enjoyed my time rather than being cooped up studying. But forget about those negatives because it was overall really great.

On Saturday my friend and I went to IKEA to have a general look around and a get a few homey things. If you have never been to IKEA or haven't even heard of it then I shall explain: to me IKEA is like a big people's playground. Basically it's just a really large home-wares shop originating from Sweden; there's a massive showroom where they have kitchen, bedroom, bathroom ideas and all of the stuff in between, there's also a restaurant where the food is super cheap and then there's a self-serve section where you can purchase the flat packs and other bits and bobs. I love going to IKEA because of the great ideas that make up the showroom, I love pretending that the areas of the showroom are rooms in my own house (I wish). I cannot wait to have my own house to decorate myself but for now all I have is my room so I just make do with the space that I have. I ended up picking up a mirror, a plain black doona set and an apple slicer. My friend got himself a bin, a sheet set, a clothes rack and some hooks to hang things on. Honestly, I think IKEA would be a great place for a date because there is so much to talk about in the showroom, you can snuggle on the beds and stuff and then go and get a cheap bite to eat. It was a very fun trip and I can't wait to do it again sometime.

Then in the afternoon we decided that we should go and stay in a fancy hotel for the night but we didn't want to spend too much money. We ended up going to the Pan Pacific Perth and indulging in all that it had to offer. It felt like we were in another world; I was referred to as Miss Davis, we got food brought to our bedside and lived in a fluffy white robe for the evening. We had a room on the 15th floor and got to overlook the river.

We spent the night eating yummy things, bathing lots and watching Foxtel. We fell asleep quite early, tangled in the luscious white sheets. We woke quite late in the morning, bathed, watched some more telly and then wandered to breakfast. With our room we got a free buffet breakfast, which had absolutely everything! There was hot breakfast options, fruit and cheese, cereals and even waffles and pancakes with ice-cream! After breakfast we took the elevator all the way to the top and had a snoop around, imagining ourselves as the guests of the Presidential Suite. We then headed back to our room packed up and checked out. Overall it was a very luxurious stay that was thoroughly enjoyed and to be honest, quite good value for money.

I think weekends should be a time for relaxation, catching up with people and just enjoying yourself. I hate the thought of having to stay locked up in my room all weekend typing on my computer. Just take one day to do something nice, you deserve it! Treat yourself and surround yourself with those who make you happy. I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend too!

PS Happiest birthday to my gorgeous friend Tessa, I'm sorry that I couldn't make it, I promise I'll make it up to you next weekend!

Love, love, love
